Privacy in SyncX
How SyncX stores library data, media, platform sessions, opt-in desktop usage statistics and limited website analytics during the public beta.
Desktop library data
SyncX stores collected records, task settings and activity history in a SQLite database on your device. SyncX does not provide a hosted cloud library or upload your collection to a SyncX account.
Platform sessions
SyncX uses dedicated local Chromium browser profiles, each kept with the browser that created it, and a native credential database. Existing browser import is explicit and domain-scoped. Credentials never enter the renderer, library exports, Cloudflare or diagnostic logs.
Downloaded media
Images and optional videos are written to the local SyncX media directory according to each task’s settings. Remote covers may use the system WebView’s HTTP cache. Removing local files is under your control.
Exports and diagnostics
JSON and CSV exports are created only when you request them. SyncX redacts Cookies, tokens and page-signing values from logs and exports; review any exported content before sharing it.
Desktop usage statistics
Off until you agree. SyncX asks once; you can change it any time in Settings › Privacy. When on, the app sends anonymous events: launches, each day it is used, how long it stays open, which features are used (connecting an account, collecting, exporting, searching), collection counts, durations and error categories, plus app version, operating system and a random install ID. It never sends account names, collected content, search terms, file paths or error messages. Events go through SyncX’s Cloudflare Worker to Google Analytics, which receives only your country, not your IP address. Data is kept for 14 months. Turning statistics off deletes unsent events and the install ID.
Website analytics
The website uses Google Analytics after the page becomes interactive. It records page path, language and when the install command is copied. Do not send account names, library searches or desktop collection content. Google may process technical data such as browser, device and approximate location under its own terms.
Removal
Removing a connection clears its associated local session through the app. Uninstalling the application alone may leave its data directory; remove that directory separately if you want to erase the local library and media.
